Italy is victorious!

Winning unites people. Losing isolates them. That's what happened last night after the Italian victory over the French team.

What the hell was Zizou thinking with that head-butt to Materazzi's chest!? Some way to end a career, with violence. Trezeguet misses the penalty shot. Thuram crying. Buffon ecstatic. Italy wins the World Cup after 24 years, beat Germany in 1982. Domenech isolates himself, very pensive, out of a job.

All in all an excellent final match!

Back in the real world, my sister pulls another disappearing act. She packed up everything and moved without even telling any of us, strange behavior. What made her do such a thing? My lovely nephew and nieces must feel isolated. She only thinks of herself.

True freedom

Last night I decided: no alarm clock tomorrow morning, I will wake up whenever I feel like it. Ha ha, I should disconnected the house phone! Damn. And it's always robbers calling to see if there is someone at home or not so they can come clean the place out. Sometimes at 3 and 4 in the morning those numb nuts ring us when I'm deep in sleep enjoying my dreams. It's so hard to go back to sleep after that.

Another true freedom is not answering the phone, or even having a mobile phone or e-mail or any tool that allows others to disturb you. How many times I am in the toilet or shower and the phone rings but I can't be bothered to answer, important or not. Tonight, 22:00 I sent an e-mail to a participant in my up and coming events and then backed it up with a SMS. How intrusive is that. Saturday night. Well he called me while I accompanied my friend on his sales shopping. Maybe I should have shut off my phone but in fact it was much more interesting to have answered the phone.

Can anybody name a few more true freedoms?
